04:39 pm - Fairy Folk Festival Some pictures from a recent show, The Fairy Folk Festival in Santa Rosa, CA last Sept. 29th. It was a beautiful day and a great show with lots of people in fairy costumes :) Here's our booth: Me in my costume again. I made some wings but they got a little uncomfortable later on so I took them off. It was really wierd having something on my back like that, and I kept bumping into things! I think I'm happy just painting fairies, and at future fairy festivals I'll still dress in Renaissance costume but no wings please.
There were all sorts of "creatures" at this faire, here's a unicorn who attracted quite a crowd.

Oh my! your booth is so beautiful Lisa! Everything is so organised and well presented. Matting all these prints must take you so much time! And you look lovely! Love the green dress and the small wings!
I have a question: did you sew the greeting card organiser? It's so nice!!
Thanks Annie! Our booth has been evolving for the 4yrs we've been doing shows, it's definitely a work in progress. Right now we're discussing ways to present original framed work too. As for matting prints, I've gotten pretty quick at it :)
I made the hanging greeting card organiser, Joe's dad made the spinning wooden ones. (Sewing the hanging one was kind of a challenge, Joe had to help me by holding it as I tried to sew all the pieces of vinyl on, and I kept getting stuck with the pins, ouch!)
I just sent you an email in response to your post, I hope you got it :)
Oh wow!!! Your booth looks so awesome and you're so pretty!!! I particularly like the gauzy fabric under the tent and the card panel. Neat idea there.
I can't wait to set up a booth at a faire again ^^
Thanks Celine! The gauzy fabric is actually curtain panels I got at IKEA, it's only something like $7.95 for a package that has 2 panels in it! I think I have about 8 panels around the tent.
You look so pretty, pretty enough to paint a portrait of. Your booth looks very lovely too.
Thanks Holly! Your'e so Sweet! :)
Your booth looks amazing! I'm jealous of your sewing skills for the organizer - wow! I want one. :D Also, your dress is beautiful!
Thanks! My mother always said I'd thank her for teaching me how to sew (I was a bit complainy when learning) and of course she's right, I've thanked her MANY times. The organizer isn't too hard to make, just a little tricky getting the fabric inthe machine right.
Great photos!!! Looks like it was fun!!
Thanks Dawn! It was SO much fun! I'm already looking forward to next year :)
