10:50 am - Forest Fairy
Here's my latest ACEO. I really want to go hiking again in the woods,
but I can't right now because I have to run around getting ready for the
holidays like everyone else. And I get to make a ton of gingerbread cookies
and lefsa (a Norwegian food, it's like a tortilla but made out of potatoes
and flour). For the lefsa, I'm on my own, but my friends and I are going
to be having a cookie decorating party, so that should be a lot of fun
(hopefully we won't eat them all!)

Oooh! I am jealous :) Have fun! Now I'm curious as to what you'll see on a hike.
Lefsa is good, I love it with just butter, or it's also good with some cheese and turkey in it too. My cousins swear the best way to eat it is with brown sugar and butter, which is OK too, but not what I'm used to.

She's lovely and so natural!!

I've had lefsa. My husband's part Norwegian. I get the stuff they sell at the store. Little triangles and we fill them with mashed potatoes and butter.

His grandma also used to make lutefisk. You couldn't PAY me to try that. :P

Thanks!
That's cool, they don't sell lefsa in the store around here... guess there aren't enough Norwegians. Ooh, I never thought about filling it with mashed potatoes and butter, will have to try that.

I've never had lutefisk, but my dad talks about it, not in a flattering way either. He said the best lutefisk he ever had was when his grandmother (I think) tried to cook it in a pressure cooker and it evaporated :)

That's too bad. There are a lot of scandinavians around here. Well, there's a lot of european descendants around here.

Greg and his dad tell me it's HORRIBLE. That the smell is enough to kill you.

That's too funny about the pressure cooker!! LOL
